The Research Behind the Innovation

Our research focuses on unlocking the potential of multiple feedstocks, including unused grasses and plants like Napier grass, for biogas production. Napier grass, in particular, has been identified for its rich organic composition—high levels of digestible organic matter, carbohydrates, and proteins—making it an ideal candidate for sustainable energy generation.

Composition Analysis

Grass samples from Gujarat and Maharashtra revealed high cellulose and xylene content, low ash levels, and exceptional biogas production potential.


Field Studies

Napier grass demonstrates fast growth, high yield (120–150 metric tons per acre), and minimal nutritional and water requirements, thriving even on marginal lands.

Biogas Production

Experiments with wet and dry grass in lab-scale and pilot-scale mesophilic biodigesters showed optimal biogas yields at 15% solid concentration, with methane content exceeding 64%.

India’s First Patented CBG Commercial Plant

Our relentless commitment to research and development has culminated in the establishment of India’s first self-owned and self-funded commercial plant in Gujarat. This groundbreaking facility utilizes multiple feedstocks for compressed biogas production, alongside the conversion of by-products into high-value ligno-cellulosic biomass products and rich natural fertilizers.
